As with the rest of the Caribbean, The Bahamas real estate market has slowly been digging out of the financial crisis of 2007/08. Although still slower than many would like, things are starting to turn the corner, as 2014 was a better year than 2013, and 2015 looks better yet!
The tourism numbers for many of these Caribbean countries has actually been fairly good, and is not at all reflected in the real estate figures we see. I assume part of that had to do with deals that could be snatched up in Florida (what some might consider a safer investment, closer to home) during those lean years. But as buyers start to make their way back to The Bahamas, you have to wonder if the deals that existed for some many years are also gone. My guess is no, but they are harder to find.
If you are thinking about buying real estate in The Bahamas, 2015 is definitely time to get off the sidelines and into the market, as it could be your last best chance to grab a deal in the sun!
