Even after 2 major hurricanes this summer, the Turks and Caicos Islands are ready for high season. The people of TCI have come together to get this years tourism season on track. It may take a little while to catch up to previous years, there is no doubt that this will still be a strong year for tourism in the TCI.
Turning the Lights On
Shortly after the storms blew through, Fortis brought in a number of workers from Canada to assist in getting power back on. Although there are still a few pockets of places where power has not been reconnected, for the most part tourists will not be inconvenienced during their stay.
The speed and efficiency shown after the storm by all residents of the TCI and those from outside the country who came in to assist is truly remarkable.
Good Time to Visit the Turks and Caicos
Due to many resorts being closed and airlines not coming down over the past few months to the Turks and Caicos, now is a great time to visit. Prices on hotels and on flights are very attractive, for those who have never been to the TCI, now is the Time! Although some resorts are not quite ready to go, most hotels are back on line and ready to pamper their guests.
TCI is known for their great beaches; white powdery sand and turquoise blue waters. No hurricane is going to change that, nor the warm peoples of the country.
Although Turks and Caicos did not get hit as bad as some islands, the Caribbean could use your tourism dollars, so if you are planning a winter vacation make it in the Caribbean this year.
Can I Do Everything That I Would Normally Be Able to Do?
In a word, YES!! The island is up and running, and with the odd exception in terms of restaurant or tour operator, most of the island is back to work. For most visitors who stay in Grace Bay, everything will be as you would hope and expect!
The Turks and Caicos is waiting for you!!
